Huanglong Scenic Area
Huanglong, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and “Fairy Land on Earth,” is a 700 km² wonderland of tiered travertine pools, snow-capped peaks, and virgin forests in Sichuan’s Minshan Mountains. Revered for its otherworldly calcium-carbonate formations—including 3,400 multicolored pools—the valley earns its name (“Yellow Dragon”) from a golden-hued travertine ridge snaking through the landscape. At 3,900m above sea level, it’s one of the world’s highest alpine wetlands.
Historical Overview
Inhabited by Qiang and Tibetan communities for centuries, Huanglong became a nature reserve in 1982 and a UNESCO site in 1992. Its isolation preserved Tibetan Buddhist sites like Huanglong Temple (built in 1368). Post-2017 earthquake restoration (¥220 million invested) rebuilt boardwalks and stabilized slopes, reopening 95% of trails in 2021. The valley’s ecosystems now support 2,100 species, including the endangered Snub-Nosed Monkey.

The valley spans three zones:Yulongfoo Trace (Entrance Zone): A 3.6km path with interpretive signs and a gondola station.
Travertine Pool Zone: 3.5km of cascading pools, including the iconic Five-Color Pond.
Primordial Forest Zone: 4.1km of ancient cypress forests and alpine meadows.

Xishen Cave: A 20m-deep limestone cave with stalactites.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic!
Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale.
For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
