Historical Overview

The Xizi Lake area has a rich history dating back to the Han Dynasty (206 BCE–220 CE), when it served as a strategic military and cultural hub. The reservoir itself was created in 2001 as part of the Xiaolangdi Water Control Project, aimed at flood prevention and water resource management. This modern engineering feat transformed the region into a scenic and ecological wonderland. Over centuries, the area witnessed the rise and fall of dynasties, leaving behind relics such as the Han Dynasty tombs and Tang Dynasty stone carvings. The scenic area is divided into three main zones:
