Daolang Tribe
Daolang Tribe, located in Awati County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang, is a living museum of Dolan culture—a nomadic community that thrived on the edges of the Taklamakan Desert. Designated a national AAAA-level scenic spot in 2014, the tribe’s 8,000-acre territory integrates arid desert, lush Huyang (poplar) forests, and Uyghur architectural heritage. Once a refuge for 13th-century Mongol refugees, it now preserves hunting rituals, mud-brick dwellings, and the soulful "Dolan Muqam" music, recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.

- 1950s: Rediscovered by ethnographers, documenting its unique language, dance, and "Dolan hunting culture."
