First, you will come to the Lion Forest Garden, an ancient garden famous for its unique lion-shaped rockery. It is one of the four famous gardens in Suzhou and an outstanding representative of Yuan Dynasty gardens.

Then we will go to the Humble Administrator's Garden, which is regarded as one of the "Four Famous Gardens of China" and is a masterpiece of Suzhou's gardens. The rocks, ponds, waterfalls, streams and other elements in the garden blend with each other to form a beautiful ink scroll. Here, you can enjoy the ancient pavilions, winding streams and paths, lush green vegetation, and skillful carvings!

Afterwards, take a stroll to Shantang Ancient Street to experience the trading and cultural center of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Afterwards, we will arrange a cruise for you, departing from Shantang Street directly to Tiger Hill. On the cruise, you will also be able to enjoy Pingtan - a musical and oral performance art form that has been popular in Suzhou for a long time.

In the afternoon, you will embark on a journey to explore Suzhou's Tiger Hill, which is a famous scenic spot with a long history of more than 2500 years. As Su Shi, a famous poet of the Song Dynasty (960-1279), said, "to visit Suzhou and not see Tiger Hill would lead to a lifetime of regret".

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return. Q & A

Tongli Water Town
How long does a typical boat ride last, and what kind of scenery can I expect to see during the ride?
Answered by intotravelchina | August 01,2025 15:01
A typical boat ride in Tongli Water Town usually lasts about 30 - 45 minutes. During the ride, you'll be able to see the charming scenery of the water town from a unique perspective. You'll pass under numerous ancient stone bridges, each with its own unique design and history. The banks are lined with traditional Jiangnan - style buildings, with white walls and black tiles, reflecting in the calm water of the canals. You'll also see locals going about their daily lives, such as washing clothes by the canal or rowing small boats to transport goods.
Asked by Maxine Roy from Brazil | August 01,2025 14:37
I'm interested in buying some souvenirs related to the attractions we visit on the first day.
Answered by intotravelchina | August 01,2025 15:02
Near the Lion Forest Garden and the Humble Administrator's Garden, there are some small art and craft shops. You can find hand - painted fans with beautiful Suzhou - style landscapes, silk scarves with traditional patterns, and small wooden carvings of lions (inspired by the Lion Forest Garden). Shantang Street is a treasure trove for souvenirs. There are many shops selling traditional Chinese handicrafts, such as porcelain, calligraphy works, and embroidered handkerchiefs. You can also find local specialty foods packaged as souvenirs, like Suzhou - style candied fruits and preserved plums. Just make sure to bargain a bit when shopping on Shantang Street to get a good price.

I'm traveling with my family, including young children. Is the itinerary suitable for kids?
Answered by intotravelchina | August 01,2025 15:02
Of course! At the Lion Forest Garden, children can be encouraged to find different lion - shaped rocks and have a little "rock - hunting" game, which can make the visit more engaging. In the Humble Administrator's Garden, you can take them to the open areas near the ponds and let them observe the fish and ducks, which is always a hit with kids. Shantang Ancient Street offers many opportunities for interaction. There are small shops selling traditional toys and snacks that children will love. During the cruise, the Pingtan performance might be a bit difficult for very young children to understand, but the beautiful scenery along the way will keep them entertained. At Tiger Hill, you can tell them the interesting legends associated with the place to spark their imagination.
Asked by Judy Stone from Argentina | August 01,2025 14:00
What kind of traditional activities or customs can I expect to see at Shantang Ancient Street?
Answered by intotravelchina | August 01,2025 15:03
Shantang Ancient Street has a rich cultural heritage as it was once the trading and cultural center of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. When you visit, you can expect to see traditional handicraft demonstrations. Local artisans may showcase skills like paper - cutting, sugar - painting, and embroidery. These are not only beautiful art forms but also carry the essence of Chinese traditional culture. There are also traditional tea houses where you can experience the Chinese tea - drinking ceremony. You can sit back, relax, and enjoy a cup of fragrant Chinese tea while learning about the different types of tea and the proper way to brew and appreciate them. Additionally, you might come across traditional music performances, adding a melodious touch to your street - side experience.

Humble Administrator's Garden
Are there any specific spots within the garden that are must - sees for photography, and what time of day would be best to capture the most beautiful scenes?
Answered by intotravelchina | August 01,2025 15:03
The Central Pond area is a great choice. You can capture the reflection of the ancient pavilions on the calm water, especially during the early morning when the light is soft and there are fewer people around. The Winding Corridor is also a wonderful location. Its unique architectural structure and the way it meanders through the garden offer many interesting angles for photos. As for the best time of day, early morning is ideal as the light is golden and creates a warm and peaceful atmosphere. In the late afternoon, the setting sun can cast long shadows and add a dramatic effect to your shots. Avoid mid - day when the sunlight is harsh and can cause overexposure in your photos.
