  • Terracotta Warriors and Horses-Lishan National Forest Park-Huaqing Palace

We will drive about 40 kilometers to the world-famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses. These Terracotta Warriors were built by China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, to protect him in the afterlife. Over 8,000 life-size terracotta figurines, horses and chariots were buried underground for over 2,000 years until they were discovered in 1974. Standing in front of these spectacular statues, you will be awed by the ambition of Emperor Qin Shi Huang and the skill of ancient Chinese artisans.

Before visiting the Terracotta Warriors Museum, you will also have the opportunity to experience traditional culture by making a miniature Terracotta Warrior under the guidance of a local potter.

Leaving the Terracotta Warriors, we will drive to Lishan National Forest Park. There are a lot of famous monuments here, such as the "Beacon Tower", the Pavilion of Military Admonition in commemoration of the Xi'an Incident.

Finally we will come to Huaqing Palace, which is a royal garden with hot springs, palaces and gardens.Huaqing Palace is the palace of the Tang Dynasty's feudal emperors. It is also called "Hua Qingchi".

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return. The drive from the Terracotta Warriors to Lishan National Forest Park is relatively short, usually around 15 - 20 minutes. The journey from Lishan National Forest Park to Huaqing Palace takes about 10 - 15 minutes. These are approximate times and can vary slightly depending on traffic conditions.

What's the best time of year to take this one - day Xi'an tour?
Answered by intotravelchina | July 16,2025 16:36
Spring (March - May) and autumn (September - November) are the best times. The weather is mild, making it comfortable for walking around the outdoor sites like the Terracotta Warriors and Lishan National Forest Park. In summer, it can get quite hot, and in winter, it might be a bit cold, especially if you plan to enjoy the hot springs at Huaqing Palace.
Asked by Erin Edie from Ireland | July 16,2025 14:43
Is making a miniature terracotta warrior hard? I’m not crafty at all!
Answered by intotravelchina | July 16,2025 16:36
Not at all! A local potter will guide you step by step—even beginners can make a fun, keepsake-sized warrior to take home.
