planning of 3 days in Zhangjiajie
Hi, we are planning to spend 3 days in Zhangjiajie. Is it worth to stay one more day in order to do a day trip to Furongzhen - in the morning there and in the evening back to Zhangjiajie? Or is it better to spend mentioned additional day in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park? How much time would we spend in bus Zhangjiajie - Furongzhen? Thank you.

It is recommended to prioritize spending an extra day in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Although Furongzhen (known as the "ancient town perched on a waterfall") has its unique charm, the round-trip travel time from Zhangjiajie urban area is about 5-6 hours (2.5-3 hours one-way). A day trip would compress sightseeing time and cause fatigue from rushing. The forest park covers a large area with numerous attractions (Yuanjiajie, Yangjiajie, Jinbian Stream, etc.)—three days usually only allow covering the core areas, and an additional day would let you deeply experience its geological wonders without haste. If you have a preference for ancient towns, consider combining this with nearby attractions like Fenghuang Ancient Town on another trip for a more relaxed experience.
