  • Arrive in Guangzhou and Transfer to the Hotel -- Yongqingfang Cultural Block -- Beijing Road Pedestrian Street -- Dafo Temple -- Pearl River Day Cruise (View Canton Tower)
  • Hotel: 4+stars Hotel
  • Meals:None

Welcome to Guangzhou, the vibrant capital of Cantonese cuisine and culture! Upon arrival, your private driver will meet you at the airport and whisk you to your centrally located hotel. After freshening up, your private guide will lead you on an immersive city stroll. Begin at Yongqingfang, a revitalized heritage neighborhood where traditional Qilou arcades meet trendy coffee shops—perfect for people-watching and soaking in the local Cantonese life rhythm. Next, walk the bustling Beijing Road, a millennium-old commercial artery with a glass-covered section revealing the ancient brick roads of the Song and Ming dynasties right beneath your feet. Duck into the serene Dafo Temple for a moment of zen amidst the urban hum. The day culminates with a leisurely Day Cruise on the Pearl River, offering a front-row seat to the gleaming skyline and the iconic Canton Tower, often dubbed the "Slim Waist."

Local Life Tip: While the cruise is scenic, we recommend you ask your guide where to find the best "Double-Skin Milk" dessert near Beijing Road—a silky sweet custard that defines Guangzhou comfort food.

  • Full Day Excursion to Qingyuan Gulong Gorge -- Dinosaur Valley -- Skywalk Glass Bridge -- Yuntian Waterfall -- QQ Speed Drift Cart (Driver Only, No Guide)
  • Hotel: 4+stars Hotel
  • Meals:Breakfast

Leave the city behind for a day of adrenaline and forest air in Qingyuan. Your private driver will take you comfortably to Gulong Gorge. This isn't just a walk in the park—it's an assault on the senses. Start with Dinosaur Valley, a quirky trail where animatronic giants roar from the misty jungle ferns, a hit for the young at heart. Then, test your nerve on the Skywalk Glass Bridge, a massive cantilevered platform suspended high above the canyon floor. As you inch forward, the Yuntian Waterfall thunders beside you in a multi-tiered cascade—it's one of the most spectacular tandem views of glass engineering and raw nature you'll ever see. Finally, cap the excitement with the QQ Speed Drift Cart. Think of it as a personal alpine slide winding down the mountain; you control the brakes as you zigzag through the forest canopy.

Note: Today is a driver service day for maximum flexibility and privacy. The driver will assist with tickets and directions, allowing you to explore the gorge at your own pace without the formality of a guided tour.

  •  Hotel Pickup -- High-Speed Train to Zhangjiajie -- Private Transfer to Hotel -- Free Evening Exploration (Suggested: 72 Wonder Tower Night Lights & Local Snacks)
  • Hotel: 4+stars Hotel
  • Meals:Breakfast

After breakfast, your driver will ensure a seamless transfer to the train station where you'll board the modern high-speed rail to Zhangjiajie. Watch the landscape transform from Guangdong's bustling delta to Hunan's misty, karst-peak countryside. Upon arrival in Zhangjiajie, a new private driver greets you for the transfer to your hotel. The evening is yours to settle in and explore.

We strongly suggest stepping out after dark to view the 72 Wonder Tower. This architectural spectacle is a towering pagoda-studded cliff-face illuminated by a dazzling 3D light show. It's a sensory feast of modern Chinese spectacle. For dinner, wander the nearby food streets. This is the time to sample Tujia ethnic bacon or the local specialty, Three Pot Hotpot—a sizzling, spicy cauldron of pork, tripe, and tofu that will warm you up for the mountain hiking ahead.

  • Full Day Tour of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park -- Bailong Elevator (Hundred Dragons Lift) -- Tianzi Mountain -- Yuanjiajie Scenic Area (Hallelujah Mountain)
  • Hotel: 4+stars Hotel
  • Meals:Breakfast

Today you step into the literal landscape of Pandora. After a private transfer to the park gate, you'll ascend via the Bailong Elevator—a glass elevator bolted to the side of a vertical cliff that rockets you up 326 meters in under two minutes. The rush of the open view is unparalleled. From the top, the mist-shrouded sandstone pillars stretch as far as the eye can see. You'll explore Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, home to the Avatar Hallelujah Mountain (formerly known as the Southern Sky Column). Watch as clouds weave through the towering spires—it's a surreal, almost silent world save for the wind and bird calls. Continue to Tianzi Mountain (Son of Heaven Mountain) for a panoramic view of the "Forest of Swords."

Fun Fact: Keep an eye out for the wild macaque monkeys near the trails. They are bold and charismatic but please keep your snacks hidden—they are professional pickpockets!

  • Full Day Tianmen Mountain Tour -- World's Longest Cableway -- Glass Skywalk (Cliff Plank Walk) -- Tianmen Cave (Heaven's Door)
  • Hotel: 4+stars Hotel
  • Meals:Breakfast

If Day 4 was about looking at the peaks, Day 5 is about clinging to the edge of them. You'll board the Tianmen Mountain Cableway right from downtown Zhangjiajie, a 7.5 km journey that slowly pulls you from the city streets directly up into the clouds over the mountain ridges—it's one of the longest passenger cableways on Earth. Once atop, you will walk the vertigo-inducing Glass Skywalk that clings to the cliff face of the mountain. With nothing but 1,430 meters of air between your feet and the valley floor, it's the ultimate test of "don't look down." The grand finale is descending the 999 Steps that lead down to Tianmen Cave (Heaven's Door)—a natural arch in the mountain so massive a plane has actually flown through it.

Tip: If 999 steps sound daunting, you can opt for the internal escalator built inside the mountain core to reach the cave base—a marvel of engineering in itself.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return. Q & A

How long is the Tianmen Mountain cable car ride? Is it enclosed, or open-air like some gondolas?
Answered by intotravelchina | August 05,2025 14:04
The 30-minute ride is fully enclosed and safe, with panoramic windows. It’s one of the world’s steepest cable cars—a thrill for all ages!

How long is the wait for Bailong Elevator?
Is there an alternative route if it’s too crowded?

Absolutely! The park has flat paths, shaded pavilions, and plenty of benches. We’ll pace the visit slowly, and Zhenhai Tower’s climb is optional.

Tickets cost ¥120–150 per adult (discounts for kids). We’ll assist with booking during the hotel check-in. The cruise offers unparalleled views of Canton Tower and city lights—a must-do for first-time visitors!
