Raffles Cloud Swing

Raffles Cloud Swing

The Raffles Cloud Swing, situated atop the towering Raffles City Chongqing complex, is an exhilarating attraction that combines high-altitude thrills with breathtaking panoramic views of the city’s skyline and the meeting point of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. Suspended over 250 meters above ground, this daring swing offers riders a heart-stopping experience as they soar through the air, surrounded by Chongqing’s dramatic urban and natural vistas. As part of the "Skywalk" adventure zone, it has quickly become a iconic destination for thrill-seekers and visitors looking to capture unforgettable moments above one of China’s most dynamic cities.

Introduction & Historical Significance
Perched at 250 meters above ground on Chongqing’s iconic Raffles City Crystal Corridor, the Skylift Swing redefines urban adventure tourism. As Southwest China’s first high-altitude river-view swing, it debuted in 2023 as part of the “Exploration Pod · Cloud Paradise” complex, blending modern engineering with the dramatic topography of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. This daredevil attraction symbolizes Chongqing’s transformation into a global mountain-city tourism hub, harmonizing its historic “Jialing Gateway” heritage with futuristic design. The swing offers panoramic views of the “Yuanyuanguo” (Mandarin Duck hotpot) river confluence,Hongya Cave’s lantern-lit cliffs, and the city’s neon-drenched skyline.

Architectural Layout & Design

  • Crystal Corridor Engineering: The 300-meter-long, 10,000㎡ horizontal skyscraper spans four 250m towers, housing observation decks, clubs, and sky gardens. The swing is anchored to its eastern end, adjacent to the 270° glass-bottomed observation deck.
  • Swing Mechanics: Equipped with dual safety harnesses and hydraulic launch systems, the swing propels riders 180° over the river valley at 80km/h, creating a 3-second freefall sensation before gliding through mist-shrouded peaks.
  • Aesthetic Integration: Neon-lit steel trusses and orange-hued skywalks contrast with traditional Chongqing diaojiaolou (stilted houses) below, earning it the nickname “Sky Shuttle of the Mountain City.”

Major Attractions & Experiences

  • Ultimate Thrill Ride: The “Cloud Leap” swing accommodates riders aged 8–59 (1.4m height minimum, 40–100kg weight range), with tandem seats for shared adrenaline rushes. Sunset sessions offer golden-hour lighting for Instagram-worthy shots against the “Eight Dimensions” cityscape.
  • Cloud Walk Experience: Adjacent 380m-high skywalks feature transparent catwalks without handrails, where visitors “walk on air” while gazing at Three Gorges Museum’s ancient artifacts or the Yangtze Cableway gliding below.
  • Cultural Immersion: Nightly “Night of Chongqing” light shows project 3D mappings onto the corridor’s facade, while Sichuan Opera performances and calligraphy workshops enrich the historical ambiance.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
