Day 1: Zhangjiajie
Tianmen Mountain National Park – Tianmen Cable Car – Glass Skywalk – 72 Strange Buildings
4+stars Hotel
After breakfast, head to Tianmen Mountain National Park, a UNESCO-listed wonderland blending natural beauty and cultural mystique. Board the Tianmen Mountain Cable Car, one of the world’s longest passenger cable cars, which ascends 1,279 meters over 7.5 kilometers. As you glide above peaks and valleys, marvel at the “Avenue Towards Heaven”—99 hairpin bends snaking up the mountain.Upon reaching the summit, hike to Tianmen Cave, a massive natural arch dubbed the “Gate to Heaven.” Legend says it was created by a divine sword strike. For thrill-seekers, the Coiling Dragon Cliff Glass Skywalk awaits—a 60-meter-long walkway suspended 1,400 meters above sea level, with transparent floors revealing the abyss below.
After lunch (savor tujia stewed fish or crispy duck at a local restaurant), head to 72 Strange Buildings, a cultural complex reimagining Tujia minority architecture. Wander through 72 pavilions, each modeled after traditional styles from across China, with upturned eaves, carved wooden balustrades, and courtyards adorned with red lanterns. Climb the Sky Ladder Observation Tower for panoramic views of the Wuling Mountains framing the complex.
Day 2: Zhangjiajie
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon – Glass Bridge – Yellow Dragon Cave
Breakfast/Lunch
Energize with a breakfast and soy milk at your hotel. Drive 1.5 hours to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, a UNESCO Global Geopark. Trek the “Bailong Elevator” Trail, where a glass-bottomed elevator descends 335 meters into the canyon. The highlight? The Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, a 430-meter-long, 6-meter-wide marvel suspended 300 meters above the canyon floor. Walk across it for vertigo-inducing views of the valley below.
After lunch (try sanxian dujuan—steamed fish with pickled vegetables), visit Huanglong Cave, a subterranean wonderland. Descend 76 meters via elevator into the cave, where stalactites glow like golden dragons and underground rivers echo with mystical drips. Don’t miss the Dragon Palace Hall, a cavern so vast it could fit 10,000 people.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories.
Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic!
Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale.
For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
