Nestled within Guangzhou's Chimelong Tourist Resort in Panyu District, Chimelong Grand Circus is a UNESCO-recognized 5A-level spectacle and the world's largest professional circus arena, crowned with the Guinness World Record for "Largest Permanent Circus Building" (2014). Since its inception in 2000, it has pioneered China's "theme park + wildlife" hybrid model, blending global circus excellence with cutting-edge technology. The venue, spanning 100m wide and 50m deep with an 11-layer stage, hosts 300+ international artists from 20+ nations and 400+ animals, performing 400+ annual shows that attract over 2 million visitors yearly. Historically, it symbolizes Guangzhou's transformation into a global tourism hub, earning titles like "City Cultural Icon" and "Pearl of South China's Entertainment."

Architectural Layout & Design
The arena merges natural landscapes with futuristic engineering:

  • Stage Design: A 11-tiered immersive forest stage with mobile tree props, LED-lit streams, and 8m-high tech fireworks. The 360° arena features 5 stage modes (open, proscenium, equestrian, push-pull, rotating) and a 60m-diameter "crystal chandelier" for aerial ballet. Safety systems include multi-layer nets, air cushions, and real-time monitoring.
  • Technology: Dynamic lighting (Golden Sea fixtures) and symphonic sound systems enable programmable effects, while solar-powered facilities and rainwater systems minimize eco-footprint.
  • Capacity: 7,000-seat auditorium with VIP zones, family pods, and accessible ramps for elderly/children.

Major Attractions

  • Signature Shows: "Magic Legend III" (2025) debuts "rod control" acrobatics and crystal ballet. Classics include "Global Motorcycle Heroes" (6 riders in a steel sphere), "Elephant Procession," and "Bear Parade" (13 bears performing tricks).
  • Animal Acts: White tigers, koalas, and giraffes co-star in equestrian dramas, while dolphins and seals headline marine shows.
  • Cultural Fusion: Russian trapeze, Mongolian contortion, and Chinese "top-spinning" merge with West End-style storytelling.

  • Photography: Dawn for empty-arena shots; golden hour for stage lighting. Use polarizing filters for vibrant colors.
  • Cultural Etiquette: Silence phones during acts; avoid flash photography (protects performers).
  • Packing: Sturdy shoes for uneven stairs, polarized sunglasses, and reusable bottles. Winter layers/summer mosquito repellent required.
  • Safety: Hold children’s hands on slopes; follow staff during emergencies.

Shopping on Nanjing Road in Shanghai was just amazing! It's truly the "First Commercial Street of China", where tradition and modernity blend perfectly. You can find awesome souvenirs and experience the trendy vibes in cool stores. The neon lights at night are just spectacular, shining bright like Times Square in New York. The food here is incredible too. I had a feast for my taste buds. Shanghai, I'll definitely be back!

As a solo traveler from Canada, I was nervous about navigating China alone—but this 11-day tour was PERFECT! From hiking the Great Wall at sunrise (Day 3) to gasping at the Terracotta Army (Day 5), every day delivered ‘pinch-me’ moments. The real showstopper? Zhangjiajie’s Avatar Mountains (Day 7)! Our guide made the stone pillars come alive with stories. Massive thanks for handling all logistics—bullet train tickets, entry passes, car! And the 4-star hotels surprised me.

Our 2-day Zhangjiajie tour was beyond spectacular! As someone who’s visited Beijing and Shanghai for work, this trip revealed China’s wild, magical heart. Day 1 in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park felt like stepping onto Pandora—I’m a huge Avatar fan, and Yuanjiajie’s floating peaks left me breathless. The misty pillars and lush valleys like pure movie magic! Then came Fenghuang Ancient Town, we eat dinner beside the thundering waterfall. It seems Unreal! The night views of stilt houses glowing over the river were straight from a fairy tale. For fellow Avatar lovers and adventure seekers: Don’t miss this bucket-list experience! 10/10 would return.
