240 hours visa free transit
Hello,
I am Canadian and will be flying to Seoul and will have a one way plane ticket from Seoul to Shanghai PVG airport. I am planning to stay 6 days in Shanghai and will have another one way ticket from Shanghai PVG airport to Macao. From Macao I will stay 3 days in Macao and then from Macao I will be flying to Harbin Taiping International Airport but will have a layover at Changsha Huanghua International Airport for 24 hours. I will be staying in Harbin for 2 day and then will fly to Osaka. Will the 240 hours visa free transit work in this case?

Yes, your entire itinerary is definitely and undoubtedly eligible for 240 hour visa free transit twice. Once during your South Korea - mainland China - Macau and and the second time for your Macau - mainland China - Japan section. In both cases you have right to stay within mainland China for up to 240 hours (10 days), but you will decide how much would you really stay as you have written in your itinerary. Just one detail... During your second itinerary, you will perform all the formalities in Changsha and not in Harbin. This is not a problem, but I just wanted to inform you that the immigration and all the formalities are always performed in the first landing airport in mainland China, so your Changsha to Harbing flight will be considered as purely domestic one. Never mind, this is perfectly eligible because 240 hour visa free transit allows crossing the provincial borders while you arrive in mainland China. Have a nice visit to China.
